"1000 Routes" is a federal educational and tourist portal created by the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation as part of the national project "Education". The project is aimed at patriotic education and acquaintance of schoolchildren with the historical, cultural and natural heritage of Russia through educational tourism
The portal solves the key task of systematizing and popularizing ready-made routes in all 85 constituent entities of the Russian Federation. Its target audience is teachers, schoolchildren, parents and tour operators interested in children's educational tourism
The project strategy is aimed at forming a unified federal knowledge base, summarizing best practices and developing domestic tourism. The mission of 1000 Routes is to make the study of the native country fascinating, accessible and systematic for millions of students
Tasks
Develop a centralized web portal on the 1C-Bitrix platform from scratch, which will become a single official resource for systematizing children's cognitive tourism throughout the country
Implement an interactive map as the visual core of the portal for easy search, navigation and display of routes in all 85 constituent entities of the Russian Federation
Set up a sophisticated role model and access rights to enable each region to independently and securely publish and update its content within the common system
Create an intuitive interface that takes into account the needs of different groups of users: educators organizing trips, parents, schoolchildren and representatives of the tourism industry

Decisions
We implemented a comprehensive platform on 1C-Bitrix, choosing it as a reliable foundation for a scalable government project. The solution included:
We created a structure where each subject of the Russian Federation is an independent "node" in the common system, which made it possible to combine all routes without loss of controllability

Result of
Not just a website was created, but a working ecosystem for the development of tourism in the Russian Federation:
The portal has become the official access point to relevant educational routes from all over the country, corresponding to the goals of the national project "Education"
The implemented system allows the Ministry to coordinate the work, and the regions to quickly fill the portal, ensuring its viability and development
Teachers and parents received an easy way to find and organize trips, which directly contributes to patriotic education and study of the country

Challenges and approach
The development of the 1000 Routes portal required the solution of three key tasks. First, we implemented a role model in 1C-Bitrix to manage content from 85 regions. Secondly, we created an interactive map of Russia for visual visualization of routes. Thirdly, we have developed an adaptive interface for teachers, parents and tourists. This approach has created a single digital ecosystem for children's educational tourism
